Victoria Sayers works in various media including woodcut and lino prints, but we're delighted to be showing three of her original oil paintings on canvas. These stunning skyscapes could be mistaken for photographs initially, but they have to be seen up close to fully appreciate every brushstoke and thought that's gone into producing these beautiful pieces. Vic uses several layers of translucent oil colour to convert the shifting light to capture the moment of stillness when the sky is just about to change.
As Vic says "The sky is a continuous, moving piece of art; we can miss what's going on above us as we rush around with our busy lives. I enjoy drawing attention to the beauty and drama going on above us."
The pictures here don't do these paintings justice - pop in to see them in the flesh.
